Report: Sibur may consider IPO in second quarter of 2019 – CEO

MOSCOW, Sep 11 (PRIME) -- Russian petrochemical holding Sibur may start discussions of an initial public offering (IPO) in the second quarter of 2019, CEO Dmitry Konov told CNBC on Tuesday at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“This could be a good moment for discussion. The first stage is Moscow and then we will see what we will do at the international level,” he said.

The decision on the IPO will be made based on market conditions and if shareholders consider the deal to be quite attractive, he added.

Sibur may place around 15% of its shares, Konov also said.

The Financial Times reported in August citing sources that Sibur is in negotiations to offer a 10–15% stake, most of which belongs to Leonid Mikhelson, to raise U.S. $2–2.5 billion.
